Virginia Commonwealth University - ELECTRON MICROSCOPY FOR PATHOLOGISTS
Welcome to Electron Microscopy at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia Campus.

Electron Microscopy (EM) has contributed much to the study of cell structure, function, and pathogenesis. The Electron Microscopy (EM) Laboratory in the VCU Department of Anatomic Pathology performs ultrastructure evaluation and diagnostic services for renal and muscle disorders, and certain infectious and viral diseases. It also provides ultrastructural evaluation of neoplasms when needed.

We have been involved in the training of Pathology Residents since March 1988, providing skills in the use of the tranmission electron microscope (TEM) as well as knowledge and abilities in the development of ultrastructural diagnosis. Please avail yourself of this opportunity to visit several interesting areas of EM at Virginia Commonwealth University.
